New York Giants Week 3 Game Recap and Odds Update

The Daniel Jones era has officially begun in New York after the rookie engineered a thrilling 32-31 road victory over Tampa Bay in Week 3. Jones appeared to be everything GM Dave Gettleman had hoped for when he selected him with the 6th overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft, going 23-for-36 for 336 passing yards and two touchdowns including two more with his legs. The victory was perhaps even more impressive considering the fact that Jones had to do it without the presence of Saquon Barkely, who left the game in the first half after suffering a severe high ankle sprain. Sterling Shepard and Evan Engram picked up the slack, as the duo combined for 213 receiving yards and two touchdowns on 13 catches.

Hope appears to be somewhat restored across many Giants betting markets, as New York’s odds of winning the NFC East bounced from +2400 up to +1900. The Giants playoff chances also drastically increased after they moved to 1-2 overall, moving from +2900 to +1500. Finally, New York’s season win total over under prop also climbed significantly after dropping to 5.0 games after Week 2, as it now sits at 6.0 total wins.

New York Giants Odds and Player Props After Week 3 and Giants Week 4 Odds?

After entering the game against Tampa Bay at +50000 to win the “Most Regular Season Passing Yards” prop, Daniel Jones skyrocketed up the market late Sunday afternoon and now sits at +9000. The memorable debut moved him past Cam Newton, Jacoby Brissett, and Case Keenum heading into Week 4 action – just to name a few other starters.

Barring an injury to Jones, it now appears that Eli Manning will stay on the bench for the remainder of the season, although he still sits at +15000 – the highest odds available. Unfortunately, Saquon Barkely is clearly no longer the favorite to win the “Most Regular Season Rushing Yards” title after starting the week at +400 but badly injuring his ankle. He currently sits at +4700 while Ezekiel Elliot and Dalvin Cook are now the frontrunners at +200 and +250 respectively.

Jones has a chance to keep the momentum going no matter who steps up in Barkley’s absence, as the Giants odds for their Week 4 game against the Washington Redskins are pretty favorable. The Giants are actually giving three points to the Redskins with most sportsbooks putting the Giants spread at -3 while the Giants moneyline is hovering around a comfortable -150; a comfortable line if you believe in Jones’ magic and had a chance to watch the Redskins implode offensively against the Bears.

For those looking to put some money on the Giants Over/Under, the sportsbooks think the Redskins and Giants are prone to score some points (current over/under: 49). After the Week 2 loss things were looking bleak for the Giants, but now—even in the wake of the Barkley missing significant time—things are looking up and so too are the chances to make some money on Giants game.
